Called upon to serve the public, Nerito S. Santos Jr. is the incumbent Municipal Mayor of Talavera, Nueva Ecija since July 2022. Prior to becoming Local Chief Executive, he was the Punong Barangay of Brgy. Sampaloc, Talavera, Nueva Ecija from 2018 and served as the duly elected President of the Liga ng mga Barangay.
His flagship programs “Lingap Pangkabuhayan” and “Itik Dispersal” which commenced during the onslaught of pandemic in 2020, provided livelihood opportunities to the people and enabled small businesses that were hit hard by the month-long community lockdowns to thrive and recover from the impact of the crisis.
Steadfast in making a tangible difference in the community, his core of administration is rooted on his brand of leadership “Serbisyong Diretso sa Tao” – which redounds to the welfare of the people and focuses on social services, livelihood, agriculture, health, and education. During his term, his priority is the long-held dream for Talavera to become a City and to carry its vision to be the leading Agro-Industrial City in Central Luzon.
